How do you feel when you think about popcorn? Horses? Washing your hair? Riding bikes? We recently went to an art show at the Visual Art Studio that showcased the work of Andrea Donnelly. Her large-scale weavings show silhouettes of people in muted tones, and make you feel very contemplative.
We liked that idea, and we created our own version of it. In the paintings and drawings that we made, we selected a background of something we had strong feelings about. Then we superimposed a silhouette of ourself on top of it.
The results were all different, and all brought on different feelings for the viewer. Check out Gigi’s Reddi-Whip painting and ask yourself…how do you think she feels about whipped cream in a can.
